We were privileged to have a feature article in Issue 91, masterfully written by @mana_meadows . This cover picture featured both Mana and Amon, upon arriving at our final destination after walking 360km along the Luangwa Valley, in 17 days.

Being featured as a cover photo is a special feat. Being on the cover of @travelafricamagazine and having your guides featured there is even more special. It is for this reason we are so excited to see that once again, in the latest (November '24) issue, we have our walking guides featuring on the cover.

This time it is the experienced Stephen Banda and colleague, Sasu, that stride out. This is surely testament to the caliber and personalities of our guides that lead guests on these special safaris on foot.

In this November issue, there is a lovely article written by @walkingsafarisafrica . Here you will see another lovely photo of Brent waking at Mwaleshi Camp, North Luangwa.

Keep your eyes open for this book due to be released in 2025.

As the season is fast approaching it's end, we cannot help but acknowledge what a privilege it's been to share moments with our guests and the characters that make up the story of the Luangwa Valley.

The Nsefu Pride continue to make the most of weak Buffalo, and their playful and charismatic cubs continue to feed and grow well.

Milyoti dogs are around and still finding their feet.

Olimba surges on in her 13th year, and Kamini and Chibala and their respective cubs are doing well.

For now, Mutima is evading us so we hope to touch bases with her before closing.. or look forward to what her chapter will hold in store next year.

Elephants have started shifting inland and the migrant birds are arriving in force.

A few more days and the curtain closes on a landmark season for RAS, but more on that in our upcoming Mailer.

Who doesn't love the November feels in the Luangwa

Who doesn't love the November feels in the Luangwa.

Black skies with golden light pushing through, fresh smells of excited vegetation as the drought comes to an end. The wet season feathered-migrants calls fill the air (together with the sharp call of the cicada).

And of course, all of the is host to the promise of new beginnings. Impala fawns, croc hatching isn't far away and of course we can also be spoilt with special encounters such as these.

As the cloudy skies build up, the heat remains trapped, forcing lions and wild dogs to continue looking for cooler areas to spend their days.

The Hollywood Pride has been enjoying resting in the cool sands near the Carmine bee eater hide, close to Tafika.

The affection that lions show each other is moving. It stirs something in our emotions.

To see an animal that is so highly regarded as being the apex predator, still placing so much importance in love and bonding reminds us that we should not lose sight of the importance of loving those around us.

Gorgeous time spent with Chibala and her daughter,

Gorgeous time spent with Chibala and her daughter, Chikondi.

We found them lying in the grass around sunset, keeping away from flies. As it cooled down enough they came out to the lagoon to have a drink of water.

Mum first, and daughter later.

Once mum had drunk and retreated to a termite mound, we took the time to get into the hide and Chikondi wandered out into the fast-drying lagoon to explore and have a drink.

It was really special as Chibala lay up on the termite mound, fully aware of our presence, but completely comfortable allowing Chikondi to roam the lagoon on her own.
