The resident female leopard between Tafika and Kaw

The resident female leopard between Tafika and Kawere was playing a game of chess early this morning with some baboons up an African Ebony tree.

After a good 45min of back and forth, growling and mock chases from both parties, she came down just before sunrise and walked off to plan better for tonight.

Saturday night vibes near Tafika Camp.

Guests sat down to dinner with the sound of growling and snarling. It built steadily throughout dinner until we just couldn't help getting guests over to have a look.

Two males had walked into the river just upstream of Tafika, and were later joined by the Hollywood Pride females.

10 lions, in a foot of Luangwa River water, surrounded by more than 100 crocs.

It doesn't get more wild and untamed than that.

A recent photographic group had a spectacular expe

A recent photographic group had a spectacular experience with Mukupa at the Stork Colony.

Mutima (see the distinctive heart-shaped birth mark on her flank 💕) was out in the open but had her gaze fixed on some puku in the distance.

She rolled around and primed herself for a hunt, not too unlike a domestic cat getting ready to stalk birds.

She crouched down into a stalking position and took off like a cheetah, clearing (what the team later measured) 240m of open ground before taking down a young puku in an explosion of dust.

This young male elephant got himself in a little b

This young male elephant got himself in a little bit of a knot at the waterhole in front of Tafika Camp recently.

He never trumpeted in distress for the rest of thr herd to give him a hand but simply turned and stared at the water for a brief moment before charging odd, tail outstretched and ears flared.

All paths lead to Big Lagoon.

An impressive herd of Buffalo feed their way along the dried course of the lagoon to the last remaining water in front of Big Lagoon Camp.

Not far behind was the resident pride of lions, well-fed but always alert to an opportunity.

Verraux's (Giant) Eagle Owl are abundant in the Nsefu Sector. A special past of them being so abundant is the high likelihood of seeing these big birds in daylight.

Take a look at the sunrise glow illuminating this pelican!

Shortly after leaving camp some guests came across a group of marabou storks and pelicans perched on the treetops waiting for the day to warm up before dropping down into the lagoon behind Tafika Camp.

As the guests watched, the colourful morning sun lit the tree up as it popped its rays over the horizon.

Safari at nature's pace.
