John oversees and has a hands-on approach to the management and operations of all of the Remote Africa camps.

John was born and raised in Zambia and educated in Zimbabwe. After working around the globe, he returned to Zambia in 1984 to pursue his dream of working with wildlife.

John worked for 12 years in the Luangwa Valley before creating Remote Africa Safaris, with his wife Carol, in 1995. Tafika Camp remains the home of John, Carol and their two daughters.

Fun fact: John was a commercial pilot before guiding in the Luangwa.
