Leopard Mother

Guide: Bryan
Outgoing: Night Drive
Camp: Tafika

After the first evening with the cubs we decided to head back and sit with the cubs for some time to get better photos. The cubs were there hiding under their fallen log, we did manage to get a couple of photos before mum arrived. She was not a happy girl, snarling at us from some distance away. She went behind the log making lots of noise and then she charged, stopping at the log. Most people in the car hearts stopped for a moment except for the die-hard photographers in the back clicking away. I had to tell the guys in the back to keep still as she was standing there looking very pissed off. She eventually walked away and lay down behind a bush.

Alex was on the back seat and could see her flicking her tail from side to side a sign that she was very unhappy. We left and drove to a spot for early sundowners, we all needed a drink of some kind. The rest of the drive was fairly boring after that. Lion, Elephant, Impala, Puku, Genets and Scrub Hares.
